136 days later...
Believe it or not, but finally a letter from universtiy found its way in my letter box today. So 136 days after I handed in my thesis I finally got my results.
It took me some time till I finally convinced myself that it is a good idea to open the letter and get it over with. I cannot deny that I am quite pleased and my mum is telling me since I opened it that I run around with a big smile on my face.
On the other hand there is a small voice at the back of my head which tells me that I do not deserve this grade, as I did not work "too" hard for it. Some of my collegues at uni spent so much more time on their thesis and they came off worse. And to be honest, when I handed it in, I was not really satisfied as I had rewritten one complete chapter in 2 days before I handed it in. It seems to me that either their grades or mine is not justified, as we all had the same professor correcting it.Well, now I have to adjust it to fit the criteria for the thesis of my second degree - which means I have to change the front cover - and then I finally have to get used to the idea that I can definitely take the exams in spring. This is, however, quite a frightening thought.
Thanks to all again, who endured my bad mood over the last few weeks. The fact that the result was overdue since July 2nd (which makes it 1 1/2 months late) definitely had something to do with that.

so, "sehr gut", Frau Neumann? and all that fuss and stress and worries just to find out what we already knew. that you would have a high grade on your thesis :-) you'd better start getting used to success and stop underestimating yoruself.
not to mention that because of the interest caused by your thesis, I actually aleady read the last book of Harry Potter :-)
"Harzigen Glühstrumpf" von mir! Ich weiß gar nicht, warum du jetzt jammerst, dass du die Note nicht verdient hast. Freu dich doch einfach und finde dich mit dem Gedanken ab, dass du es einfach drauf hast (auch ein Kapitel in kürzester Zeit zu schreiben).

Hey, zu diesem Anlass schließ ich mich einfach Christian an (deswegen auch der Kommentar in deutsch *g*). Sehr ordentlich! Da kommt das Ende des Studentendaseins ja auch schon mit großen Schritten näher, oder? :-P

Well, I read the correctors references yesterday and everything they criticised was what I had criticised myself: one chapter being inferior to all the others (the one I rewrote) and that it had needed another final spell- and grammar check. However, I had so many people reading it (including several native speakers) and all corrected other things (especially the Canadian and the Britain had different ideas of wrong grammar) and I read it myself at least 5 times after I finished the last sentence. My two profs are both non-native English speakers, so I just guess that they tended to be a bit "hypercorrective" which is a German habit anyway!
But I was asked to rewrite it (and include volume 7 of HP) in order to publish it either as a journal article or a complete version as a book! Well, we will see!
