Dust, flooring, paint and wall-paper

I was a busy bee for the last fortnight and therefore unable to write any posts (bit difficult without an internet connection!) I spent the last two weeks at my brother's new bought house near Stuttgart - a kind of holiday job to finance my trip to Corfu.

To be honest, I am a fan of "Home Improvement", but I am not half as gifted as Tim - I guess that says a lot about my talent. Still, my brother asked me to help and it is unbelievable, but the house is still standing. Right, they took down some walls in the kitchen and in the bathroom (which created huge amount of dust), but that was fortunately not my responsibility.

Some of you know Dana's blog and I have to confess that I had to smile when I read her posts on her new house and all the work she had to do - now I really know what she was talking about. I had to paint cellar and other rooms, I had to "de-paper" walls (which took me ages, as even watering and holepunching the wall-paper did not help a lot) and I had to do some "flooring".

Most of the time I was covered in dust and paint and needed a decent shower every night. I got away with only minor injuries (tried to pierce my fingers for example), but I also discovered new muscles in my back that really hurt every morning - well, I seem to grow old lately!

Now I am really in for a holiday!

so, does your brother recommend you? there's still a wall to break in what will be our bedroom, as well as lots of painting. not interested? after Corfu, of course :-)
I should myself do an update on our situation, since things seem to be moving ahead, so you can check my blog later on today.
hugs!
