Long time no see
I have been absent from my blog for quite some time. Of course I was busy, but somehow also a bit lazy. Too many things were going on so that I was not very keen on spending time at my laptop.
There are many things I planned to write a post about and probably I will do so over the weekend:
- Natalie's baptism in May
- Eva & Fred's wedding in May
- my first allocation to a school in Munich and my fight to stay in Bamberg
- my holidays in Torquay and London
- Anne & Nils wedding two weeks ago
- and MY FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL
Yes, I made it back to school. I am a fully trained teacher now or at least I have passed all the academic parts of it. My new school is the Franz-Ludwig-Gymnasium in Bamberg and there are 20 other "freshers" with various different subjects: History, Social Science, Maths, Physics, German and English.
Today I was told which classes I have to teach on my own after half term: A Yr 6 in English and a Yr 12 in History (foundation course). And here we are...

Actually, a Yr 6 in English and a Yr 12 in History is a good mixture for the first half term, isn`t it?
In English you could prove whether you`re able to enhance the "rookie-skills" of those young, inexperienced and willing pupils ;) and a History foundation course requires - in my opinion - a lot of knowledge and ideas to teach in an attractive and interesting way, as many subjects were already taught in former classes except Bavarian policy if I´m not mistaken.
Nevertheless I´m sure you gonna make it ;) and maybe you could post later one what it`s like to work with 6th class pupils having just a limited vocabulary and little grammatical knowledge. In my judgement it`s quite a thing.
Best regards,
Benjamin
As you are busy with grading every now and then, too, I think you should check this out. Enjoy! :-)
Adding links in a comments seems not to work. So here in plain text again:
